To Kill A Mockingbird Study Guide

Takes place in Alabama in the 1930′s. The book is historical fiction, young adult literature about overcoming prejudice, innocence, courage, perspective, stereotypes, hypocrisy, the power of one.

Set in the south during a time of racial prejudice, To Kill a Mockingbird is a riveting story about a black man who is put on trial for committing a crime against a white woman. Lee Narrates the story through the eyes of an innocent young girl nicknamed Scout who is unaware of the hatred around her. Throughout the events of the trial, Scout learns that “you never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.”
